In Cairo Conspiracy we meet Adam, who becomes entangled in a power struggle within Egypt’s religious and political elites. When the Grand Imam suddenly dies, Adam is without his knowing recruited to influence the choice of the new Grand Imam. When he learns the truth, he is caught between two fires. Cairo Conspiracy was awarded for best screenplay at the Cannes Film Festival.
