Past Lives (ENG SUBS)

Nora (Greta Lee) and Hae Sung (Teo Yoo), childhood friends with a profound connection, are forcibly separated when Nora’s family relocates from South Korea to Canada. After twelve long years, Nora is pursuing her studies in New York when she reconnects with Hae Sung through the internet. Their thoughts drift towards a long-awaited reunion, but the physical distance diminishes their connection. Eventually, twelve years later, Nora, now married, finally reunites with her childhood sweetheart during a transformative week when he visits her in New York. Playwright Celine Song delves into the themes of destiny, love, and the delicate boundary between the life we live and the life that could have been in her debut film, “Past Lives.” This movie pleasantly surprised audiences at both the Berlin and Sundance film festivals earlier this year.
