Tre Ciotole (ENG SUBS)

The preciousness of life is only truly appreciated when it’s about to slip through your fingers. A trivial argument brings an end to Marta (Alba Rohrwacher) and Antonio’s (Elio Germano) relationship. Antonio makes this decision rather abruptly, leaving Marta at a loss. Despite the deep sadness she feels, she tries to get her life back on track. Antonio throws himself completely into his work to avoid feeling anything. When Marta discovers that her lack of appetite is due to something unrelated to the heartbreak, it forces her to set new priorities in her life.

Tre Ciotole by Spanish director Isabel Coixet is a love letter to life. The film is based on the book of the same name by Italian writer and feminist Michela Murgia. Coixet is regarded as one of the big names in the contemporary Spanish film world. Recently, she has been exploring the art form of collage, which is not far removed from her cinematic approach.
