Rebellious daydreamer Ahmet leads a double life in an Islamic dormitory in 1997 Turkey, where religious and secular Turks clash. In his personal coming-of-age debut Tuna lets us experience a divided country through Ahmet’s eyes, while capturing the enigmatic nature of boyhood. Shot in elegant black-and-white, with surprising camera angles, clever editing and a disarming chemistry between the two leads.

All selected features and shorts are fiction, because it is our belief that through the power of imagination we can alter our behaviour for the better and rethink our relationship with the more-than-human world. We are here to make you wonder, to inform, to spark resistance and to nurture fresh talent.
